Details CJE SeniorLife Weinberg Community for Senior Living is a premier assisted living campus in Deerfield that provides a warm, supportive environment with engaging life enrichment opportunities to enhance the lives of its residents. We help those who require care for rehab, dementia and long-term assistance. We are part of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. Compensation: 75k Shift: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekends based on events and Manager on Duty program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, and implements resident lifestyle programming, special events and outside trips for Assisted Living, Memory Care and Adult Day Services.
- Uses and updates community communication platforms.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to life enrichment internal and external programming.
- Works closely with the Sales and Marketing Team to promote Weinberg's Life Enrichment programming.
- Attends meetings and runs trainings throughout the year.
- Surveys and interviews residents to determine their past and present interests and talents, as well as their satisfaction with the community's programs and activities.
- Recognizes the individuality, diversity, and spirituality of all residents when planning activities and celebrating holiday functions.
- Develops relationships with residents to encourage their participation in activities that enhance their quality of and appreciation for life.
- Observes residents' function and behavior and report significant changes or concerns to appropriate staff.
- Performs work tasks in a manner that preserves each resident's dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
- Utilizes outside community resources and independent contractors to enrich the variety of programs made available to residents.
- Helps to develop and manage the annual department budget.
- Documents and maintains all records as required to effectively manage the department.
- Secures and maintains all department supplies and equipment.
- Oversees the contracted beauticians and the scheduling associated with the beauty shop.
- Works closely with the CJE Volunteer Department to coordinate individual and group volunteers.
- In consultation with the Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Human Resources, hires, trains, disciplines and terminates departmental employees in accordance with CJE SeniorLife Policy.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of CJE SeniorLife.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Activity Director certification preferred.
- Previous experience in senior living preferred.
- Previous experience using software such as Canva, Outlook, and Microsoft 365 preferred.
