Systems Engineer- Lab Operations

Location: Ft. Meade, MD - This is an on-site position, 9/80 work schedule
Clearance Required: DoD Secret (Top Secret/SCI eligibility preferred)

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in supporting cutting-edge technology for our nation's defense? We're looking for a motivated Systems Engineer - Lab Operations to oversee and maintain a state-of-the-art test lab environment for an Enterprise DoD AISR Full Motion Video (FMV) system. This role is perfect for a problem-solver with a passion for systems troubleshooting, validation, and collaboration in a mission-critical environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the operation and maintenance of a production-equivalent test lab, ensuring its readiness for troubleshooting, testing, and system upgrades.
  • Partner with software development and cybersecurity teams to test new capabilities, validate solutions, and implement security updates.
  • Create and execute test plans in an operationally relevant environment to ensure smooth transitions of validated features to production.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to support system architecture implementation and resolve network, software, and hardware issues.

What You'll Bring:

  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Proficiency in networking and protocols, Linux systems (CentOS, RHEL), and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
    • Experience with video technologies (e.g., H.264 encoding) and container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred).
    • Familiarity with storage systems (Fibre, iSCSI) and DoD security protocols (RMF, STIGs).
  • Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in electronics, computer science, or a related field.
    • At least 2 years of experience with DoD or military operations preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong troubleshooting skills in large-scale systems.
    • Multi-disciplinary flexibility to address software and hardware solutions.
    • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Cubic Pay Range:

$80,000 - $115,839 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
