Position Summary

As our IPT Manager, your mission is to produce and deliver satellites to meet our commitments on time and on quality. You will lead the activities for the production team that coordinates and execute the AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) activities. You'll ensure the daily performance and execution of the Production floor meets the goals for the assigned programs or product lines. You will liaise with the Production team, Planning team, Mission Support team, Design to Manufacture team, and the broader OPS organization to resolve any issue impeding nominal production.

You would have a technical, developmental, and programmatic interface with the Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program functions. You will organize and coordinate all critical and transverse activities from preparation to validation occurring on the Florida production site alongside the Master Planner, the Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure smooth operations and production flow in the Florida factory for the assigned product line. You'll be accountable for removing production blockers and maintaining production flow while complying to flight configuration and process compliance for the assigned product line.

To be successful in this role you would be able to influence non-direct report team members and peers to work on programmatic tasks to achieve the specified goals and tasks.

Responsibilities



  • Reporting to the Head of Program Industrial Management, you are responsible for the integration and testing of the spacecraft in full compliance with the applicable specifications to meet On Quality, On Time, On Cost deliveries.
  • In line with the daily and weekly production goals, you lead resolution of any issues that are impeding nominal production. This includes all test support equipment, manufacturing tools, and factory works. You act as the point of contact for other departments to coordinate resolution of issues to return production to nominal flow.
  • Drive a safety and quality first culture on the production team, and foster collaboration within the operations organization with your peers on the Operations Management Team.
  • Drive a culture of data-based actions; use existing data/develop tools to create actionable information to drive improvement.
  • Drive improvements in cost and quality using standard engineering best practices and lean/six sigma tools.
  • You oversee the characterization, coordination, and timely implementation of non-nominal activities with quality, Design to Manufacture, and Operations Management teams.
  • You oversee production activity (coordination, execution, and cost control) for assigned programs.
  • You will monitor and report the execution and progress of the AIT program-product plan.
  • Plan on headcount need to support the assigned program line and needs.
  • Member of the Non-Conformance Review Board.
  • Support managerial and supervisory tasks as needed.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and progressive development actions to team members through technical and managerial techniques, as needed.
  • This position reports to theaHead of Program Industrial Management and isalocated in Merritt Island, Florida.



Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering (or similar field) required.



Experience:



  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a highly technical production environment is required.
  • Experience in operations and production flow management is required.
  • Experience with a production assembly environment is required.
  • Experience in cost, planning, and resources management.
  • Experience in managing successful customer interactions and customer satisfaction.
  • Leadership skills, team management experience, and capability to work in close cooperation with other teams.
  • Ability to influence non-direct reports and peers to drive change, maintain production flow, and meet company's goals.
  • Leader that can deliver results through influence without direct reports.
  • Proven experience of managing production deadlines.
  • Capable to work in several projects of different complexity managing the own and team's workload.
  • Capable to work in an organized and ordered manner complying with the company AIT, EHS, and quality standards.



Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:



  • Prior aerospace and clean room working experience is required.
  • Ability to understand system requirements and specifications.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a transverse and multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and technical.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively through notes and emails. Able to capture concise procedures in a written document.

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and weekends to meet production goals.
  • Flexible working time in normal shift but occasionally early/late/night shifts may be required.
  • It may be required to work during weekend in specific situations.



Technical Systems Proficiency:



  • Working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP system), JIRA, and MES is required.



Travel Required:



  • Up to 10% travel required
