The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) seeks a highly motivated technician to support immunology research. Responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks related to animal husbandry, animal sampling and processing, processing of human clinical samples, molecular assay performance, and support with data management and analysis.

Responsibilities



  • Assist with animal husbandry and sampling.
  • Process human and murine samples, maintaining meticulous records to ensure traceability and quality control.
  • Assist with comprehensive analyses of samples, encompassing data processing and analysis.
  • Foster a culture of scientific excellence, integrity, efficiency, teamwork, continuous learning, and improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Undergraduate student with coursework in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management files.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in common biology techniques such as tissue culture and RNA isolation.


Other Requirements



  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made
  • Participation in the medical surveillance program

    • Position will involve work with laboratory animals
    • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure


  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
