This role will manage daily maintenance activities to support printing and extrusion production departments, plan and assign work, enforce policy and procedures, drive root cause analysis activities, recommend improvements in production methods, and participate in continuous improvement team activities. The Maintenance Supervisor will also manage environmental regulatory, issues and concerns for the plant. We have been driving innovation since 1976.   • Responsible for the safe operation of the maintenance area, managing costs to budget, ensure quality production and maximum efficiencies.

    * Ensures and enforces all company and safety policies in conjunction with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable legislation.

    * Accountable for leading and managing employees demonstrating a high value for safety, ethics, and protection of the environment, while developing employees to deliver competitive sustainable results through training, leadership and the promotion of a team approach.

    * Coordinate the activities of the operations, maintenance, and technical functions in the area to deliver against business objectives.

    * Maintain quality standards through variance investigations, quality systems maintenance and improvement and effective communication of customer and business expectations.

    * Ability to understand and assist in implementing lean performance management methodologies.

    * Investigate, recommend and execute modifications to improve older equipment and initiate projects to drive continuous improvement.

    * Understand, participate and support all safety programs, policies and initiatives within the facility.

    * Collaborate with other departments in order to implement consistent procedures.

    * Manage daily goal setting to achieve maximum machine uptime and productivity.

    * Manage department performance and ensure barriers are identified and action taken.

    * Manage training and continuous education to ensure proper skill level throughout department.

    * Provide coaching and counselling as required.

  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience managing a medium sized maintenance team.

    * Completion of a relevant bachelor's degree, an engineering diploma OR a certified trade with a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent, may be considered.

    * Direct experience in the blown film industry is preferred.

    * Direct experience with Blown film and CI wide web flexo printing presses equipment, storeroom management, enterprise work order management system, PLCs - Siemens, Allen Bradley, and understanding of and ability to read schematics is desired.

    * Knowledge of industrial maintenance and outage scheduling best practices.

    * Enthusiastic self-starter, with an ability to innovate and delegate effectively.

    * High energy level, positive attitude able to work effectively with other departments.

    * Demonstrated professional and respectful attitude.

    * Capability to manage conflict toward a constructive outcome.

    * Leads by example, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and motivate people through objective setting.

    * Knowledge of LEAN performance management methodologies.

    * Ability to take and provide clear direction.

    * High capacity to learn new skills and manage change.

    * Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently.

    * Must be available after hours call-in and weekends.
