As Mechanical Engineer 1, you will have the opportunity to design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for aircrafts and other civil and military platforms, to meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements, which could include mechanical and thermal analysis, 3D & 2D CAD work, software development, creating BOMs, scheduling, prototype building, and working with vendors.

In this role you will also provide and develop expertise in solving mechanical oriented problems, from both the manufacturing line and the field, to ensure the production of parts remains smooth and exceeding the customer's needs.

Job Core Responsibilities
* Research, implement, test, and validate technologies which will aid in the development of new products/features to support existing products and New Product Introductions (NPI).
* Develop ideas and conceptual designs for mechanical components and systems, considering factors such as functionality, manufacturability, cost, and performance.
* Analyze designs to ensure they meet or exceed requirements using thermal analysis, vibration analysis, flow simulations, design for assembly, structural calculations, failure mode analysis, etc.
* Knowledge of working with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, preferably SolidWorks and ANSYS.
* Create 3D models and 2D drawings to support the design, analysis, and procurement of prototypes and Proof-of-Concepts (POC).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, and manufacturing to define project requirements and objectives.
* Benchmark and data collection of products currently in market to support the implementation of the company's technology road map.
* Coordinate and plan necessary laboratory testing as applicable to the components being developed. Analyze, interpret, and summarize testing results to determine direction for development of project.
* Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for prototype and production builds.
* Participate in technical design reviews for newly developed solutions with cross functional teams.
* Support manufacturing and assembly processes by providing detailed design documentation and resolving engineering issues as they arise.
* Present and discuss technical solutions with customers and suppliers for subassembly and component level items.
* Perform basic enterprise infrastructure tool functions and processes to facilitate engineering activity (e.g., SAP functions)
* Review and update related drawings, work instructions (WI), and Bills of Material (BOM).
* Write and review technical reports to be delivered to the customer.
* Maintain continued learning through first-hand product exposure, structured learning, and continuous industry exposure.
* Participate in mutual mentorship with interfacing departments to facilitate technical solutions, positively impact operating profits for the site, and create beneficial collaborative relationships with counterparts.
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
* Perform these and other duties and responsibilities through self-initiative, leadership, and collaboration to achieve new product development goals.

Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor degree in engineering required
Years' Experience: 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
Skills:
* An ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial attitude, passion for technology and strong desire to create products and run programs to drive innovation in the work culture
* Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem-solving
* Comfortable knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Strong knowledge of 3-D modeling; SolidWorks knowledge preferred
* Finite Element methods and evaluation
* Knowledge of Object-oriented programming (OOP) tools; Python preferred
* Familiarity with data collection, data wrangling, and data analysis techniques
* Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
* Good knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity)
* Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
* Strong organizational skills; ability to drive results; continual learner
* Passionate about problem solving and working with interdisciplinary teams
* Demonstrated adaptability and collaboration skills
