Job Summary

This is a position within the Division of General Internal Medicine and Bioethics. The Academic HR Analyst position reports directly to the Division Manager who has oversight of the clinical, educational, and research activities of aforementioned divisions/section. Incumbent will work closely and collaboratively with division leaderships (Chief and Division Manager) and Department Academic Personnel Manager as needed to provide expertise in recruitment, personnel onboarding, faculty development, VISAs and other processes to assist with personnel administration at various levels. This will involve a broad knowledge of university policies and procedures. This position provides expertise with complex transactions for academic and HR actions that requires an understanding of the School of Medicine, UC Davis, and Academic Personnel Manual Policies and Procedures, as well as understanding HR policies and processes related to staff hiring. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Experience providing administrative support to faculty or managers or high-level executives.
  • At least one year of experience working with academic, HR personnel hiring, or two years working in a university setting.
  • Experience in handling multiple tasks in a busy office setting.
  • Experienced in time management, skilled at setting priorities for work to effectively manage and follow through on assigned tasks to meet multiple/conflicting deadlines.
  • Experience in writing website content.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources and Executive level confidentiality requirements.
  • Proficiency with computer programs, especially with Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of MylnfoVault, APHID, RECRUIT, iGlobal, MedHub, Outlook, PeopleSoft.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate information such as funding, payroll, and other data, with the ability to formulate logical and objective conclusions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with knowledge and ability to utilize tact, professionalism, patience, and courtesy in dealing with a wide variety of individuals and to interact harmoniously and positively.
  • Ability to interact in confidence and retain confidential information. Ability to take initiative, work independently, or work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle the resolution of complex interpersonal issues as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in contributing to research publications.

The General Internal Medicine Division is comprised of 34.2 FTE clinical/research faculty, 7.0 FTE staff physicians, 5.0 FTE research personnel (SRA/postdoc), 4.0 FTE admin staff, plus 12 Volunteer Clinical Professors/Joint Appointments and ongoing faculty recruitment.
