Relationships: Reporting to the QEHS Manager, this position works closely with other Lab Personnel (Quality and R&D) as well as Production Supervisor, Production Personnel, and Regulatory Compliance. Has the ability to work with others in a team environment, the ability to accept direction from supervisors, the ability to follow work rules and is willing to accept constructive criticism. Job Role: This position is responsible for providing technical support regarding the chemistry of products, adherence to quality specifications, regulatory and environmental compliance. This position performs chemical testing of batches, line samples, and raw materials along with providing batch and line sample adjustments as necessary. This position tabulates and analyzes data on the results of the chemical testing. The person must actively participate in our Quality, Health and Safety program including training initiatives and adherence to all policies and procedures. Skills, Knowledge & Experience:Organizational Skills: Must be able to prioritize and organize requests from a project perspective. Must be able to multi-task. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills. Problem Solving: High degree of analysis, problem solving and creativity. Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of laboratory procedures, analytical chemistry applicable to the assigned area, products, materials to be tested. Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment. Effective use of technology to accomplish objectives (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, internet, SAP, Business Objects etc.). Good financial acumen. Minimum Education Required: Four-Year Degree in Chemistry or related field preferred. Experience may be substituted for education. Minimum Experience required: 1-2 years of experience in a Quality Control environment preferred. Education may be substituted for experience. Physical Requirements: Stand for periods of up to 4 hours at a time. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally. We understand that candidates will not meet every single desired qualification.
