Lead the technical and engineering support activities to enhance maintenance reliability, focusing on equipment optimization and driving excellence in maintenance practices.

Key Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
  • Provide Insight and Recommendations:
    Offer thoughtful recommendations regarding equipment and maintenance activity changes, identify potential risks and opportunities, and introduce new maintenance practices. Inspire a culture of maintenance excellence and foster continuous improvement across the team.

  • Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving:
    Conduct thorough analysis and investigations into equipment failures that impact product quality, equipment uptime, and plant capacity. Collaborate with plant management to present findings and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen programs and practices aimed at preventing future failures.

  • Safety & Compliance Leadership:
    Guide the development of Critical Safety Checks (CS), ensuring they are conducted at the proper frequency and in compliance with all regulatory requirements, prioritizing safety at all times.

  • Data Analysis for Optimization:
    Examine maintenance data to identify trends that negatively impact efficiency, cost, quality, plant capacity, and production throughput. Share key insights and offer recommendations to reverse any adverse trends, always striving for operational excellence.

  • Manage Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs:
    Oversee the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Program by defining, developing, and refining processes to optimize performance. Lead the implementation of Predictive Maintenance technologies, such as oil analysis, vibration monitoring, thermography, ultrasonic testing, and motor diagnostics, to improve operational reliability.

  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations:
    Coordinate testing, inspections, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, maintaining the highest standards of safety and legal adherence.

BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ Years related experience in Maintenance/Reliability Role
  • Experience in managing maintenance and reliability programs in a chemical production facility, with an in-depth understanding of industry best practices.
  • Experience creating and managing a budget including resource allocation and priority setting.
  • Successful leadership and hands-on direction in a chemical production facility and business functions that support projects
  • Experience in taking on a leadership role during the design and construction phases of projects that have complex chemistry, manufacturing, and packaging equipment.
  • Experience with scope generation and contractor management.

Experience with bulk material handling equipment, piping systems, pumps, electrical motors, tanks, valves, and general industrial equipment.

  • General knowledge of OSHA safe work practices
  • Technical writing
  • Knowledge of NDT methodology
  • Understanding of ASME pressure vessel requirements
  • Fluent in English
