Job Summary Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Job Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to set up and operate the machinery in department 7 such as die cast, small rotor final, spin cast, fab rotor, etc... Ability to visually inspect parts and detect defects and make necessary changes with quality guidelines Read a tape measurer Must comply with company quality and safety guidelines Maintain a clean and orderly work area Perform other duties as assigned COMPETENCIES: Minimum Basic Math Skills Ability to read and follow instructions Strong attention to detail Self motivated Ability to multi-task TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Must be able to read prints Use micrometers, verniers, snap gauges Basic computer skills Operate a fork lift Preferred Ability to work independently Dependability Additional Job Details QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: Previous employment in manufacturing Ability to work in a Team oriented setting Good Communication skills - Verbal & Written PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
