JOB SUMMARY: Provide a security presence or patrol the HCGH campus to ensure the

security and safety of patients, employees, visitors and students.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. General Job Knowledge - Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, use of

equipment and Hospital and departmental policies necessary for job performance.

2. Patrols HCGH campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against activities, theft, fire,

vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.

3. Properly prepare for and attend roll calls.

4. Maintain technical expertise on all aspects of the equipment and procedures for the job.

5. Provide a professional security and customer-oriented service for all employees and visitors.

6. Responds to all critical incidents occurring on campus. Verifies that all appropriate policies,

procedures and guidelines were followed. Utilizes experience, training and knowledge to

resolve security and/or customer service issues.

7. Remain vigilant to prevent criminal activity by constantly observing or patrolling in keeping

with the post orders on a daily basis.

8. Monitor alarms and CCTV systems in keeping with standard operating procedures by

responding when necessary.

9. All reports are prepared in an efficient and timely manner. Conduct preliminary

investigations when necessary and prepare written reports for timely submission.

10. Other duties may be assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs duties in a manner that is consistent with the hospital's core values and the

language of caring habits.

2. Attends mandatory departmental meetings, hospital in-services, and continuing education

programs to keep informed of new developments affecting hospital initiatives and his/her

area of expertise.

3. Participates on Continuous Improvement Teams as required. Performs tasks necessary for

maintenance and improvement of his/her functional area within the department.

4. Maintains effective, timely lines of communication with his/her supervisor and co-workers.

5. Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality in order to maximize his/her contribution to

the organization in accordance with hospital policy.

6. Acknowledges his/her ultimate responsibility is to directly or indirectly serve the needs of

every patient as defined in the HCGH Mission Statement.

Salary Range: Minimum 16.86 per hour - Maximum 27.84 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
