Position Title: Middle School Wrestling Chaperone
Reports To: Athletic Director, Team Coaches
Supervises: Student Athletes
Salary: Per negotiated Contract

GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
The Athletic Chaperone provides critical support to the athletic program by assisting with the supervision of student-athletes during practices, games, and other team-related activities. This position works closely with the coaching staff to promote a safe, organized, and positive environment for student-athletes, ensuring their well-being and adherence to team policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Others may be assigned.
Supervision:
  • Monitor student-athletes during practices, games, and team events to ensure proper behavior, safety, and sportsmanship.
  • Address and de-escalate conflicts or behavioral issues among team members as necessary.
  • Support the enforcement of team rules, district policies, and safety guidelines.
Support to Coaching Staff:
  • Assist head coach and assistant coaches with non-coaching responsibilities, such as attendance tracking, equipment setup, or logistical tasks.
  • Help manage team schedules, transportation coordination, and communication with parents or guardians.
  • Serve as an additional point of contact for student-athletes needing guidance or assistance.
Event Assistance:
  • Provide support during home and away games, including assisting with crowd management, managing sideline safety, or ensuring athletes remain on task.
  • Coordinate with game officials, event staff, and other personnel as directed by the coaching staff or Athletic Director.
Student-Athlete Advocacy:
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and accountability.
  • Promote the academic and personal success of student-athletes by supporting their growth and development.
Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with high school or middle school students, preferably in an educational or athletic setting.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Understanding of school athletic programs and district policies is preferred.
Commitment:
This stipend position requires availability during practices, games (including evenings and weekends), and occasional team meetings or events. The position may require travel with the team for away games.
Compensation:
This is a stipend position, with the amount determined based on district policy and the scope of responsibilities.
