Assistant North Fleet Maintenance Specialist

The Assistant North Fleet Maintenance Specialist position assists the North Fleet Maintenance Specialist to provide support for the north subregion fleet maintenance community.

In addition, the assistant FMS is part of a central fleet team whose mission is to provide cost effective and timely support to Distribution, Maintenance, Asset Management, and the Business.

The assistant FMS will actively engage with site and terminal management and their vehicle technicians to support vehicle maintenance. They will be a visible leader who strives for best-in-class performance in vehicle maintenance safety, compliance, cost effectiveness, and reliability.

This position is residence-based in the North Region and can be in Allentown, PA (HQ) or in various Northern states.

Responsibilities

Safety

  • Assist with near-miss incident investigations to ensure that the appropriate corrective action tasks are identified and tracked to completion.

  • Develop, update, and publish Maintenance Information Letters (MIL) and vehicle maintenance safety procedures.

  • Create and review eMOCs

Training

  • Develop new and constantly evaluate current maintenance and repair processes to drive safety, reliability, and productivity improvements through best practice implementation.

  • Use knowledge and skill to train new technicians, improve technical knowledge of current technicians and develop training around new equipment

  • Manage Prover Meter Calibrations for the Fleet Assist with parts inventories and WOVC events Assist with the review of new vehicle specifications and participate in pilots. Assist with Site Issues as the need arises Assist with Maintenance spend reduction initiatives Provide backup coverage for all FMS and occasionally assist at terminals

Job Requirements:

  • Travel requirements up to 30%

  • 5-10 years of Fleet Maintenance Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to improving safety performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and follow through.

  • Lead-by-example mindset.

  • Able to quickly establish credibility with customers and colleagues.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Good pc skills including experience using Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP applications.

  • Technical writing skills.

  • Understanding of regulatory bodies specific and related to the industrial gas transportation industry (DOT/Transport Canada, FMCSA, OHSA etc.)

  • High school diploma required and a preference for a 2-year Technical Degree
