The INVISTA Nylon team in Seaford, DE is looking for a Laboratory Technician to ensure we continue to provide high quality product to our customers. INVISTA's Seaford facility has been proudly producing Nylon fibers for over 75 years. These fibers can be found in consumer products such as, apparel, household, automotive, industry, and traveling sectors worldwide. Our dedicated team members support a 24/7 operation while working a daylight schedule with rotational on-call duties, ensuring unwavering support for our manufacturing processes. Our Benefits: * Starting Rates up to $20 / hour plus overtime; increase after qualification * Immediate Vacation Available - 120-hour annual allotment * Automatic 401K company contribution along with competitive matching program * Excellent Health benefit options What You Will Do * Receive / process / analyze product & chemical samples from different areas of the plant. * Complete sample analysis for supporting daily operations that includes but not limited to RV, Amine Ends, pH, X-ray, tensile properties, finish on yarn, moisture on yarn, crimps measurement etc. * Ensure sample results are automatically sent via computer applications and results are communicated with the machine operators in a timely manner. * Have a strong attention to details, be a critical and analytical thinker and a good communicator * Multitask: coordinate priorities and flow to the work * Cross-train to learn all aspects of the lab and improve our lab operations * Share and seek knowledge from the technical or the area Specialist to assist with troubleshooting, any special training/equipment needs. * Process special requests from engineers; supporting new product testing. * Maintain safe work practices by following safety data sheets (SDS's), plant/area Safety rules and procedures. * Respond to production or environmental non-conformance while communicating with the site operations * Manage data entry in computer applications (SAP, OpCon, PQM-g, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Experience working in a laboratory environment OR Associate's degree or higher in a science field * Ability to provide lab coverage out of standard working hours Physical Requirements: * Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to eight (8) hours / day * Must be capable of regular lifting and moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and moving up to 50 pounds * Commitment to adhere to safety rules and regulations including wearing personal protective equipment (including respirators) * Work Overtime to include, weekends & holidays What Will Put You Ahead * Experience in a manufacturing environment * Working knowledge of various computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, OpCon, PQM, SAP * Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, such as creating and modifying spreadsheets and using functions, filters and graphs to analyze data * Familiarity with Safe Work Practices such as Lock Out, Tag Out * Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.
