Capital One's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Team has responsibility for helping the overall organization identify, manage, and mitigate key risks that may keep the company from achieving its strategic objectives. Managing risk is for our businesses, our customers, our communities and our associates. ERM is currently hiring for a Principal Risk Specialist who will have the opportunity to apply their risk management and analytical skills to some of our highest profile Risk Management projects, including implementing solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success.

This role will be responsible for managing various activities related to the LAUNCH Risk Assessment program. LAUNCH is a key risk management process at Capital One designed to prudently manage the risks associated with introducing new, expanded, or modified products, services, practices or processes. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting oversight activities to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements

  • Identifying and driving strategic opportunities to enhance the LAUNCH process

  • Partnering with business areas to ensure appropriate local execution of the program

  • Managing audit and regulatory exams and requests

  • Developing and leveraging key relationships with stakeholders that enable collaboration across the enterprise

  • Monitoring performance of the overall program against quantitative and qualitative metrics, including effective challenge of controls

  • Supporting the monitoring and reporting requirements for Policies, Standards and Procedures

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 4 years of risk management or compliance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or Juris Doctorate

  • 5+ years of risk management or compliance experience

  • PMP, Scrum Master or Lean Six Sigma
