Job Summary
Works under the direction of the ORA Supervisor. Performs the essential responsibilities of the position as outlined.
Essential Functions
- Deliver case carts to CPD. Disinfects case carts with B62 foam. May need to return dirty case carts to Decontam in CPD. Dock the Neptunes for cleaning.
- Turnover the OR room, wipe all the equipment down in the OR room, mop the floors, assist the OR staff with room turnover, bring in equipment for the following case. Assist with moving patient back to the stretcher/bed at the end of the case.
- Place dirty linen and garbage bags from the case carts in proper soiled containers. Restock warmers in the OR room with clean linen. Remove dirty linen and replace with clean bags in the OR Cores.
- Assist the Cysto room with the transport of dirty scopes in the Red Bio-hazard bins to the Decontam area in CPD. Pick up clean Red Biohazard bin in CPD for Cysto.
- Restock supplies (foam, gloves masks, specimen cups). Restock housekeeping carts, maintain clean mops and buckets. Maintain the Formalin in the Specimen Room.
- Makes runs to the Lab and Blood Bank when requested by the OR room. Participate in Massive Blood Transfusion Protocol when necessary.
- Pick up patient beds for the surgeries of the day. Clean and maintain the storage areas for equipment & supplies in the OR and the OR Cores. Wipe-out storage bins around the OR, dusting and cleaning equipment and shelves.
- Setting up the OR rooms with the correct equipment for the following day. Participating in the maintenance of the OR equipment / beds. Reporting Broken equipment & beds to ORA supervisor, facilities or Bio Med.
- Provide highest quality of service delivered efficiently, effectively and compassionately as outline in our standards 100% of the time.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma
- 6 months of relevant experience Six months to one year prior OR assistant experience Preferred
