Job Summary

Identify, plan, participate in, and lead fleet projects and activities that help the organization achieve and sustain improvement initiatives. The analyst is responsible to understand fleet processes and use structured problem-solving methods that will add sustainable value. The analyst is capable of identifying, establishing, and tracking data and metrics associated with fleet performance. The analyst works cooperatively with cross functional teams and department to seek improvements and solve specific problems. The analyst is capable of pro-actively building on prior projects to identify and extend improvements in related areas.

Essential Functions

  • Manage Fleet projects and initiatives to ensure milestones and budgets are adhered to.
  • Understand the fleet and corporate strategic plan to evaluate and determine improvement opportunities.
  • Independently use resources like SAP, Excel, Tableau, and others to collect and interpret data.
  • Work with the business to develop high level and detailed performance measures and targets.
  • Develop measures, and other controls for processes and projects.
  • Run correlation and regression analyses on large data sets to make conclusions and recommendations.
  • Teach and Coach others to develop reliable measurement methods and communications tools to report results.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data produced and results reported; accept accountability and work cohesively in a team environment that stresses attention to detail.
  • Provide insights from analyzed and collected data through presentations, models, and written word.
  • Create standardized processes and implement improvement in support of fleet related plans.
  • Perform financial and cost-benefit analyses using a wide variety of analytical tools and methods.
  • Develop business cases and project plans using company standards.
  • Lead efforts to re-design processes and procedures demonstrating advanced analytical skills and creative solution planning.
  • Reliably advise and coach colleagues as a trusted resource.
  • Present team outcomes to peers and management for review, comment, and approval, overcoming barriers and addressing concerns.
  • Effectively coach colleagues to competently apply improvement methods and principles.
  • Demonstrate excellent business acumen in communications, behavior, dependability and teamwork.
  • Manage schedules and provide updates assuming multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Conduct research and benchmarks.
  • Regularly develop and add to own skills and mentor and develop lesser experienced members of team.

Education Description

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in: Business, Data Analytics, Process Improvement, Engineering, Fleet Services or Supply Chain Management - will consider relevant job-related CenterPoint Energy experience for non-degree candidates.

Experience

  • 3+ years relevant work experience in fleet services, business, data analytics, supply chain, process improvement, or utility engineering.
  • Passion for fleet and experience/knowledge in the fleet space.
  • Strong data and math skills including correlation and regression analysis.
  • SAP, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel experience required. Tableau or Power BI preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a Team.
