JOB TITLE: Quality Manager

DEPARTMENT: Quality

REPORTS TO: President

POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing quality personnel, customer and supplier interface, and maintaining compliance with all AS9100, ISO, and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Manage a small to medium team of engineers and quality personnel


  • Maintain the Capewell Quality efforts and personnel


  • Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and AS9100 Aerospace Standard
  • Evaluate production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements
  • Develop and assure Quality Assurance Department budget is maintained
  • Manage internal auditing activities
  • Collaborate with management and senior staff across production departments, to draft acceptable quality standards and compliance procedures
  • Develop and implement quality standard testing and evaluation processes
  • Assess test results and approves recommended changes
  • Review quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, compliance, and relevance
  • Periodically report the status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies
  • Be accountable for Quality Program management and timely performance of Quality Assurance Department tasks


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:



  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in quality management roles with increasing responsibility
  • Significant experience may replace the education requirement
  • Affiliation with ASQ a plus
  • AS9102 experience and execution
  • Experience with dimensional inspection and supplier certification
  • Internal auditor experience
  • Experience with AS9100 rev. D
  • Expert level root cause and corrective action experience
  • Significant experience in collection of data and statistical process control
  • People management skills
  • Familiarity with government source inspection
  • FAA and/or Department of Defense experience
  • Experience with GD&T or IMTE
  • Experience with government contract reviews

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires an employment agreement.

This position does not require personal protective equipment unless on the shop floor where Safety Glasses are required by all.
