Power Component Engineer 4

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

About the Position:
As a Power Component Engineer, you will work with innovative power systems including Power Supplies, DC-DC Converters, Voltage Regulators POL's, and Board Mount Power, including assembly methods for next-generation routers and switches. You will interface with all the global leaders in Power components and guide their development and measure their performance. You will work with the power design team, the mechanical design team, and the commodity team to define the future of power components at Juniper.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with and influence power design to define the optimal standardized power solutions on new products concerning performance, quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Measure performance and provide feedback to power supply base in the area of power supplies, DC-DC Converters, Voltage Regulators, POL's as well as Board Mount Power
  • Engage with and drive improvement with power suppliers using 8D corrective and preventive action to a systemic level and a team member for auditing onsite.
  • Improve Juniper's competitiveness through value engineering while ensuring only the highest quality, reliability, and system performance with respect to the power commodity.
  • Contribute to the development of the power strategy in alignment with system development requirements and for Juniper ASICs and systems including:
    Power development requirements
    POLs / BMP
    Supplier Performance and Technology Assessment
    Continuous Improvement within the Power CE function to develop systems, analytics, and capabilities at Juniper to ensure world-class quality / reliability and sustained improvement over time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in power supply manufacturing, testing, and design
  • Experience with circuit simulation and modeling, as well as solid reliability analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in power supply component manufacturing and design
  • Experience with reliability modeling, Circuit design, and debug experience

Minimum Salary: $108,750.00

Maximum Salary:$166,750.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $108,750.00 and $166,750.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
