THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including washing, waxing, mopping, dusting, and polishing floors, furniture, fixtures, baseboards, walls, and ceilings. Work includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing floors in offices, hallways, and entry areas. Additionally, you will maintain lavatory toilets, urinals, vanities, mirrors, floors, as well as replenish lavatory supplies. You will dispose of wastepaper, recycling, and shredding in proper receptacles. You will report on needed repairs and areas of concern to your supervisor to ensure employee safety and adhere to safety standards when performing custodial work.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Any combination of experience and training

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be willing to work a full-time schedule.
  • You must have experience with Microsoft applications.
  • You must possess the ability to learn relevant software applications to perform required job duties.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (such as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, or buffing)
  • Experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, or buff floors
