Job Summary

Coordinates the day to to day administrative, financial, and research activities of a project. Assists the Principal Investigator on non-routine administrative duties.

  • Oversees and facilitates specific project activities including but not limited to coordination of research meetings, lab purchases, prepare monthly research and budget reports, and assist in any administrative related activities.
  • Maintains and monitors project's budget and financial data following the project's expenses plan. Provides monthly updated expenditures to the Principal Investigator.
  • Serves as University Credit card holder for School transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures. Maintains record of requisitions, and credit card transactions in the format established by the Budget Manager. Provides details on transactions as needed for account reconciliation, budgeting and reporting purposes. Interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding policies and procedures.
  • Assists the Principal Investigator in short and long-range resource planning for the project. Oversees and ensures the collection of data pertaining to the research.
  • Performs basic statistical calculations on data for monthly reports and presentations.
  • Plans and arranges special events and related research activities for the project.
  • Coordinates and track activities related to project work such as required trainings for project participants.
  • Networks to build campus relationships to expedite work, projects, and administrative duties.
  • Serves as primary contact and/or resource to outside parties, such as vendors, government agencies, and other Universities research partners.
  • Assists in the hiring efforts for students and postdocs positions, providing support in processes for the successful hiring and onboarding of regular and temporary employees.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator with Biosketches and Current and Pending support pages.for proposals to agencies.
  • Assists with Effort Reporting certification to ensure amounts budgeted and reported on projects is accurate
  • Works with the Office of Research and Economic Development to track the status of pending agreements.
  • Assists in coordinating and submitting the preparation of No Cost Extension and Pre-award requests to ORED.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience.
