Research Grants and Contract Administrator job details:

Pay rate: $29.21 - $35.00/hr. (Depending on experience)

Schedule: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, remote 3 days and in onsite 2 days.

Essential tasks:



  • Provide administrative and technical support for contract and grant application processes and post-award fund management for assigned Principal Investigators (PIs).
  • Prepare and analyze budgets, track expenses, reconcile accounts, and maintain fiscal integrity for extramural and other fund sources.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and projections, offering recommendations to resolve funding issues and efficiently use resources.
  • Collaborate with PIs and research offices to coordinate proposal submissions, including creating budgets and supporting documents per guidelines.
  • Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies, fund balances, and internal controls to prevent overdrafts and cost transfers.
  • Assist with payroll processes, including initiating transactions, preparing adjustments, and providing projections for personnel in assigned labs.
  • Organize, plan, and monitor fiscal budget control for contracts, grants, gifts, endowments, and privately funded projects in accordance with policies.


Qualifications: Two years of experience ideally in University setting Grants and Contracts Administration.
