First Steps is Missouri's Early Intervention system that provides services to families with children, birth to three years of age, with disabilities or developmental delays. Benchmark Human Services in the St. Louis office is seeking qualified and caring person to work as an Admin Assistant.

General Responsibilities:

Oversee the Missouri First Steps administrative, operational, and record keeping requirements for the St. Louis Area SPOE. Provide and coordinate clerical and administrative support including secretarial, receptionist, and data entry duties; and overall coordination of the daily operation of the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle daily administrative functions of the office including customer contact, phone, email, mail, filing, document preparation, and data entry.
  • Ensure documentation submitted to SPOE is properly processed and filed (uploaded)
  • Answer phone calls.
  • Use the program's web based tools (WebSPOE)
  • Complete referral forms for phone referrals.
  • Set-up child records upon referral and create & maintain child records
  • Receive, process, and disseminate child record information.
  • Ensures timelines within the program are adhered to.
  • Assist Service Coordinators with data entry related items.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned, including but not limited to filing, copying and faxing, shredding, typing, ordering office supplies, distributing information and maintaining spreadsheets.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of Early Intervention Program experience
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
