Job Description

Assists in organizing, conducting, and supervising recreation and leisure time activities for students.

  • Assists in planning and promoting all activities so students can make choices as to how to use leisure time for students.
  • Promotes and engages student participation in Community Service.
  • Ensures safe transport of students occurs timely.
  • Assists in ensuring events are available; ensures adequate equipment, supplies, or other resources for successful events.
  • Assists in maintaining active communication with other community and governmental sources including Fine Arts, Theater, Choral, Drama, Sports, Education and Training, Community Colleges, and volunteer organizations; contacts are reported weekly.
  • Ensures receipts/unused funds are returned to account fully for amount received.
  • Accounts for monetary expenditures by submitting all necessary student excursion sheets, appropriate receipts, and unused funds.
  • Assists in ensuring programs stay within funding limits.
  • Enforces all procedures regarding property/equipment.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
  • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
  • Attends all required staff training opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience working with youth required.
  • A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
