Your Job
As a Die Process Engineer at Molex, you will support the New Product Development of stamped components, both internally and externally, optimizing product design for all manufacturing processes. You will be instrumental in developing robust processes and products by working closely with various engineering and manufacturing teams. You will also be involved with building are stamping simulation capabilities. Our Team You will be part of the Copper Solutions Business Unit and will report to the Manager of Mold Design. Our collaborative team includes Product Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Integration Engineering, and all CSBU Tooling Teams. You will also interact with vendors and plant contacts. What You Will Do * Support CSBU tooling groups during design, debug, qualification, and production phases. * Review high-speed carbide progressive die designs using NX software and perform DFM assessments. * Troubleshoot existing high-speed carbide progressive dies in design and service. * Communicate concerns through DFMs and improve stamping technology and processes. * Build and develop our Predictive Engineering stamping simulation expertise. * Develop external resources to support new product development. * Contribute to and support TQM, Six Sigma, ISO, and EH&S Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures. * Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Completion of a technical school program, such as Tool & Die Apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience. * Minimum 5 years of experience in die design, including 2-3 years of CAD experience with solid modeling and design knowledge of progressive dies. * 2-3 years of experience in the fabrication and building of progressive dies. * Experience in blanking and forming spring temper non-ferrous metals. * Experience in creating blueprints/technical drawings. * Analytical skills to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results, and make corrections. * Willingness to interact with global plants, including attending evening and early morning meetings. What Will Put You Ahead * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool and Die Technology * 1 year of experience in the design of high-speed carbide progressive dies. * Knowledge of NX software, TeamCenter Software, ECTR Software, and or Die Simulation Software. * Ability to travel to manufacturing plants and conduct meetings at night when required.
