Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:
The purpose of International Education Programs is to maintain the university standard for providing outstanding immigration services for F-1 international students and for J-1 visiting international research scholars. International education programs also provide study abroad programs for FSU's traditional students to produce global citizens and leaders as change agents for sharpening the future. International Education Programs strives to enforce compliance with rules and regulations per the United States Department of Homeland Security and the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Primary Purpose of the Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative office support to International Education Programs. The Administrative Support Associate will be expected to assist with planning on-campus events. This individual will assist students with study abroad programs and train to become a school official DSO to assist with creating the I-20 batch and enforcing immigration rules and regulations. They will greet students and guests visiting the International Education Office. Perform administrative support duties such as handling travel in Chrome River, supervising purchasing supplies, and querying budgets. Prepare documents and reports, use office technology, and organize and maintain files.
Description of Work Continued:
Administrative Support -34%:
Monitors and reconciles departmental budgets and tracks travel. Complies and summarizes data using an established format. Complies and organizes information from different sources to develop reports. Assesses and may resolve unprecedented problems that require research and review of policy and procedures. Applies judgment for problem resolutions based on authority from a supervisor. Primarily serve as the office coordinator for work. Understands various software programs, machines, or office equipment that will produce the desired results. Composes written communication with guidance using standard formats.
Student Support -33%:
Assist with developing semester plans; assist with planning on-campus events; assist with student support services and documentation for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional expectations; assist the director with preparing data reports, maintaining student records, and preparing files for students. Assists students with study abroad programs.
Receptionist/Customer Service-33%:
Greets students visiting the International Education office. Arrange professional meetings with international constituents, community, and campus partners.

This position has been designated as Time - Limited, continuation of position is contingent upon the continuing availability of non-state funds.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with faculty and staff and the ability to collaborate; ability to manage time and work calmly under pressure. The ability to work with diverse student populations and provide customer care. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. The International Education Program Administrative Support Associate must work on-site. Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups. The ability to present ideas in written form. Ability to understand issues, identify problems and how to solve problems. Plans and monitors the use of expenditures to meet organizational objectives, prepares budget documents and reports. Possess the ability to utilize office equipment and other technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, two or more years of secretarial or clerical/administrative and office management experience.
