Position Summary

Instructs classroom and hands-on application of Oceaneering Mobile Robotic standard products with a focus on autonomous vehicles. This includes the basic operational aspects of the vehicle and the overall system in which the vehicle operates. Technical content of the vehicle will include the electrical system, hydraulic system, sensors, software, feature functionality, control software, component repair, replacement, and maintenance and troubleshooting. Trainer will be expected to instill performance expectations with students, including the Oceaneering Safety Culture and the professionalism expected while at customer sites.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

* Works with development and training groups to ensure consistency of product documentation.
* Oversee the development of internal Mentor/Assessors and instructors, instructor performance, and refer instructors to classes for skill development. Includes both classroom and OJT instructors.
* Deliver, analyze, assist in the design and development, and evaluate Training Courses, to include technical, HSE, and leadership.
* Assist TM'(s) and/or instructor(s) in the analysis of performance data to determine the effectiveness of the instructional systems, courses, and instructional material.
* Responsible for implementing policies as directed by Delivery Manager for instructional staff.
* Instructs on all aspects of vehicle operation and system in which they operate.
* Instruct on the fundamentals of vehicle architecture, including mechanical and electrical subsystems.
* Mentors and assesses students' ability to troubleshoot autonomous vehicles and associated systems.
* Instructs theory of troubleshooting on sensors, software, mechanical systems, electrical systems, control software, and interfaces with client facility controls.
* Instructs theory of troubleshooting on hydraulic systems.
* Instructs proper operation and maintenance of autonomous vehicles.
* Instructs advanced manual control (driving) of autonomous vehicles.
* Establishes and maintains parts and supplies associated with all classrooms and hands on applications associated with instruction and curriculum development.
* Troubleshoot and repair training aids and equipment.
* Assists in the development and maintains course curriculum.
* Travel to client's sites or other Oceaneering facilities to provide instruction. Up to 25%.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

* High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent.
* 4-year degree preferred or 5 years of electrical and electronics experience; hydraulics and or fluid power system experience.
* Five (5) years industrial related experience or Five (5) years autonomous vehicle experience.
