Summary

The Project Scheduler develops, maintains, and manages project schedules. The Project Scheduler collaborates with Project Managers and Stakeholders to identify project timelines, milestones, and resource requirements, ensuring all project activities are aligned with overall objectives.

The Project Scheduler reports to the Dredging Operations Managers and/or Construction Operations Managers.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Schedule Development - Create and maintain detailed Project Schedules using scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera or similar) to track project timelines and milestones.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with Project Managers, Project Teams, and Stakeholders to gather the project requirements and ensure alignment on scheduling expectations.
  • Progress Tracking - Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly. Identify potential delays and proactively recommend solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Reporting - Generate scheduled and unscheduled reports on project status, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Present updates to Stakeholders and management.
  • Risk Management - Work closely with Project Managers and management to identify scheduling risks and issues and develop mitigations strategies.
  • Change Management - Assess the impact of changes in scope on the project schedule and communicate these changes as directed to all impacted Stakeholders.
  • Documentation - Maintain accurate documentation of scheduling processes, decisions, and changes for future reference.
  • Continuous Improvement - Recommend and implement improvements to scheduling processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Educational background in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Scheduler or in a similar role, preferably in a maritime-related field.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Must have Primavera P6 experience and proficiency.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, in a team environment, and manage multiple priorities.
Physical/Mental RequirementsThe employee must perform the job's essential functions with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.

The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices (PFD's), or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.

In addition, the employee must also be capable of:

  • Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters.
  • Standing, stooping, twisting, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting repetitively and/or for extended periods of time.
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs individually. Anything greater than 30lbs and up to 60lbs will require additional lifting means.
  • Must be able to push and pull at peak force of 150lbs.
  • Climbing stairs and/or vertical ladders of a height of 6ft or greater.
  • Working in confined work areas and/or elevated heights.
  • Adapting to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration.
