Internal Fleet Driver

INTERNAL FLEET DRIVER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support loading, driving, and unloading of flight, non-flight, fabrication, and tooling items between SpaceX sites at Vandenberg Space Force Base
• Safely load trucks at pickup points, and transport truckload to destination following the rules of the road at all times
• Safely load and unload trucks at designated drop off points
• Ensure truckload contents are secure for safe and undamaged delivery to destination
• Scan barcodes meeting business WMS requirements
• Review all documentation for correct items to be delivered, and confirm precise delivery area
• Maintain all applicable documents (paperwork) related to items being delivered to ensure they are not damaged during delivery
• Monitor service records of the vehicle when driving, and report all problems to manager immediately
• Ensure the cleanliness of vehicle, and monitor refueling when low
• Contact immediate supervisor during emergencies, and provide detailed information to remedy issues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 2+ years of professional commercial driving experience
• 1+ years of professional forklift experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Valid CDL Class A license
• Counter-balance sit-down forklift experience
• Material handling and heavy-haul driving experience (over 26k GVW)
• Experience driving for a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
• Strong customer-service delivery background
• CDL Hazmat endorsement
• CDL Tanker endorsement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Clean DMV record
• Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted; lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Internal Fleet Driver/Level 1: $22.00 - $27.00/hour
Internal Fleet Driver/Level 2: $25.25 - $32.00/hour
Internal Fleet Driver/Level 3: $29.75 - $38.50/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
