About the unit We provide inpatient bedside care for mainly the General Medical Patient Population, which could be patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, pneumonia, cellulitis, kidney failure, hyperglycemia, Diabetic Issues, Ulcers, Confused Elderly, Alcohol Abuse, Acute/Chronic Kidney Injury, Sepsis, Psychiatric Population. Scope of work Nurse Tech responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed baths, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. This job does not require CNA certification due to the extensive amount of orientation/on the job training provided. Orientation: The Nurse Tech role will require 3-4 weekdays of classroom time with our Nurse Educators. These are pre-scheduled and required WEEKDAY classes that will require attendance 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m Qualifications
