Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Workforce Development, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in workforce development, education, program coordination, or a related field, ideally within a technical or community college setting.



Preferred qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals who possess:
  • Master's degree preferred.


Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.


Compensation
The annual salary is $52,867-$58,159. A competitive benefit package is included.

Class Summary
The Workforce Coordinator for Technical Skills Programs plays a vital role in connecting students, apprentices, and adult learners with training opportunities that build the skills necessary to thrive in today's job market. This position is responsible for managing, expanding, and promoting technical skills programs, ensuring they meet industry standards and fulfill community workforce needs. The Workforce Coordinator will work closely with faculty, industry partners, and students to develop pathways that lead to high-paying, in-demand careers.

Typical Essential Duties


  • Program Development & Management:

    • Coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of technical skills training programs that align with labor market demands.
    • Partner with instructors and program leaders to ensure curricula reflect industry standards and employer needs.
    • Oversee the apprenticeship programs in technical fields, providing guidance and support to apprentices, mentors, and program stakeholders
    • Regularly assess program effectiveness, using data to adjust and improve outcomes.




  • Industry Partnership & Engagement:

    • Build and maintain relationships with local employers, trade organizations, and community partners to create job placement, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities for students.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, employment requirements, and emerging skills to keep programs relevant and responsive to employer needs.
    • Act as a liaison between the college and external stakeholders, representing technical skills programs and promoting workforce development initiatives.



  • Student Support & Success:

    • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them understand career pathways, program requirements, and job opportunities.
    • Support students by providing information for resources and wrap around services
    • Track student progress and post-graduation outcomes, ensuring programs contribute effectively to student success and career advancement.



  • Program Marketing & Outreach:

    • Develop marketing materials and outreach strategies to promote technical skills programs to prospective students, the community, and industry partners.
    • Organize and participate in career fairs, open houses, information sessions, and industry events to raise awareness of program offerings.



  • Administrative & Compliance:

    • In coordination with the Workforce Manager, monitor program budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support program growth and sustainability.
    • Maintain accurate records for reporting and compliance with college, state, and federal guidelines.
    • Coordinate with accreditation bodies and ensure programs meet necessary accreditation standards.





Knowledge
  • Familiarity with local and regional workforce trends and employer expectations; experience with apprenticeship programs is a plus.


Skills

  • Strong understanding of technical training and workforce needs; excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; data-driven and results-oriented.

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
