Position Summary

The Academic Multimedia Services office within Undergraduate Medical Education is seeking a qualified Programmer Analyst 3 to deliver insights daily and provide curricular services to support the faculty, medical students, and departmental staff of Undergraduate Medical Education. We continually strive to improve our educational outcomes with actionable insights through data-driven strategies. We are a forward-thinking team that embraces solving complex challenges for clients within the MD curriculum at UNM. Our team is passionate about innovation, and we are looking for a Programmer Analyst 3 to help lead our data initiatives, work closely with clients, and deliver impactful solutions utilizing our Learning Management System (LMS) and Curricular Management System (CMS).

The successful candidate will work with diverse data sets, manage client relationships, and lead projects from concept to execution, ensuring that our solutions deliver meaningful outcomes for our students, faculty, and staff. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical issues with non-technical users as well as the ability to work well on both independent and collaborative team projects. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment. This position requires the ability to interact positively and constructively with faculty and staff, take directions from a lead or supervisor, and adhere to policies, procedures, and directives.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

*Client Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with our students, faculty, and staff, acting as the primary point of contact for data-related inquiries and solutions. Understand client needs and work collaboratively to design and implement data strategies that align with their goals.

*Data Strategy & Analysis: Lead data management and analysis and strategy development to improve on curricular outcomes. Design and execute data models, and reporting frameworks to deliver actionable insights for our curriculum.

*LMS Management & Optimization: Utilize expertise in Learning Management Systems to help clients optimize their educational resources. Analyze LMS data to assess program effectiveness, identify trends, and provide insights for continuous improvement.

*Project Leadership: Oversee and manage end-to-end data projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client expectations. Lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.

*Reporting & Communication: Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for clients, and provide strategic advice based on data insights.

*Technical Expertise: Utilize data tools within our existing environment (e.g., One45, Brightspace, Access, Tableau, SPSS, SAS) to work with large datasets and perform in-depth analysis. Stay up to date on the latest data technologies and methodologies

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a medical school academic environment and as a member of a diverse project team.
* Expertise with Brightspace (or a similar LMS), including datahub experience.
* Expertise in the management of curricular objectives and mappings, using the One45 Curricular Management System.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.


Additional Requirements
Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required, depending on department needs.
