AOG Travel Mechanic

STS Technical Services is seeking skilled and dedicated AOG Travel Mechanics to join our team in Erlanger, Kentucky. If you have a strong background in aircraft maintenance, proficiency in troubleshooting, and a commitment to quality and safety, this role offers you the opportunity to support aircraft operations on-site and remotely.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair company aircraft technical discrepancies.
  • Perform inspections per company procedures and FAA standards.
  • Utilize electronic test equipment, voltage/amperage measuring tools, recording devices, and troubleshooting systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Inspect and maintain company equipment and tooling.
  • Work alongside contract maintenance personnel, maintaining effective communication.
  • Follow all safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and best practices.
  • Report discrepancies to the Maintenance Control department and follow repair instructions.
  • Accurately complete aircraft documentation in line with company and FAA regulations.
  • Provide guidance to junior mechanics on advanced tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Organize daily tasks, coordinate inspections, and manage aircraft repairs.
  • Coordinate required materials and tools for shift tasks.
  • Perform manual and aircraft parts inventory as necessary.
  • Assist other departments to ensure timely aircraft departures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in transport category aircraft maintenance (Boeing series preferred: 737, 777, 747-400, 747-800) with RII authorization.
  • Engine Qualifications: Unrestricted engine run qualifications for 737, 777, and 747 aircraft; bore scope qualified on CFM, Pratt Whitney, or GE-90 engines.
  • Certification: Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced training in systems/avionics for 737, 777, and 747 aircraft; proficiency in Microsoft software and digital manuals.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid passport; ability to travel regularly for AOG recovery and special projects.

  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions and lift equipment as needed.
  • Flexibility to work rotating schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
