What you will accomplish as the Director of Supply Chain and Procurement at TAPCO:

The Supply Chain Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain operations including procurement, inventory management, and logistics. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for improving the efficiency of the supply chain and for ensuring that all vendors and partners are meeting their performance objectives. The Supply Chain Director will also ensure that the supply chain is cost-effective, reliable, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management principles and must possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain metrics, such as inventory levels, cost, delivery times, and quality, to identify areas of improvement.
  • Design and implement new processes and procedures to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to supply chain operations
  • Lead the selection and management of suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Protect supply chain trough diversification and other methods to ensure no disruption to production schedules
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce lead times and improve product availability.
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers and vendors and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting and planning of materials and products.
  • Maintain metrics for process improvement and management reporting.
  • Build and maintain relationships that motivate, guide, and/or reinforce the performance of others toward goal accomplishments.
  • Develop self and others to improve performance in current role and to prepare for future roles
  • Develop, document, implement and audit work processes.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to ensure alignment and meet internal customer needs
  • Operate within prescribed budgetary boundaries and time restrictions.
  • Prepare reports relating to purchasing and supply chain environment, impacts and recommended strategies
  • Apply appropriate cost and process benchmarks, financial analysis, and risk management techniques to solve complex issues
  • Interview and hire staff and oversee staff training.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of employees
  • Participate in the development of specifications for tools, equipment, materials and methods.
  • Demonstrate and enforce company policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and KSA

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in Supply Chain Management and Logistics
  • Knowledge of all aspects of Supply Chain, including planning, forecasting, inventory, warehousing and transportation
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word for data analysis and documentation
  • 7 or more years related experience in a manufacturing supply chain environment
  • Demonstrated experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of latest methods of planning and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
