Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for leading the university's efforts to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks that could impact the institution's ability to achieve its strategic objectives. This role involves collaboration with senior leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners to create and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework that addresses both strategic and operational risks. The Director will also develop and oversee policies, processes, and tools to support a culture of risk awareness and effective risk management across the university.

Key Responsibilities:

*Risk Management Strategy: Develop and maintain the university's risk
management framework, aligning with strategic goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize risks.
*Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across university functions. Use data analytics to provide actionable insights.
*Risk Mitigation: Implement risk mitigation strategies and oversee crisis management and business continuity planning.
*Reporting: Prepare and present risk reports to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees. Foster a culture of risk awareness through training and communication.
*Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of risk management professionals. Collaborate with various departments to integrate risk management practices.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in accounting, finance, or related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise risk management (ERM) or similar role
  • At least 5 years of related experience and/or training in a manager or director role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management within a higher education setting, including familiarity with the unique regulatory, compliance, and operational challenges faced by universities and colleges

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of leading ERM frameworks to include COSO, BASEL, and related underlying operational risk frameworks applicable to cyber, privacy, data governance, et al.
  • Understanding of accounting and financial processes including, risk and control assessments, and financial controls
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Critical thinking skills, communication skills (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in analysis and review of reports and delivering effective presentations to Senior Management
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
