  Clean and sanitize rooms and furnishings in assigned work area following established policies and procedures. Qualifications
   
  Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or GED (Required)
 
 Required Skills/Knowledge
 Requires ability to follow written and oral instructions.
 Must have excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate positively with patients, families, and staff.
 Ability to operate, vacuums, buffers, shampooers, auto scrubbers, scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors and shampoo machines, and other related cleaning equipment.
 Ability to properly utilize internal communication devices such as beepers, cell phones, walkie-talkies when assigned.
 Must have excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate positively with patients, families and staff.
 Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds routinely and 60 pounds occasionally; must be able to bend from waist and at knees; must be able to reach with arms over head; must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
 
 Functional Accountabilities
 Perform routine, specialized cleaning and job assignments as assigned
 
 
    Perform daily routine cleaning in assigned areas following established policies and procedures; this could include specialty areas, such as, Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Recovery room, IR rooms, special procedure rooms, MRI's, Sterile Supply , etc.  
    Maintain sterile field as required according to department policy.  
    Remove trash and soiled linen (to include the removal and replacement of linen on discharged patient beds, stretchers and on-call rooms) and use appropriate techniques and bagging procedures.  
    Replenish bathroom supplies as needed.  
    Perform project work such as cleaning specialized equipment as directed.  
    Use cleaning chemicals for their specific purpose, follow product directions.  
    Restock cart and notify supervisor when supplies are low.  
    Perform meeting room set ups when assigned.  
    Complete Daily ReportPerform routine and restorative care to hard and carpeted floors as assigned.  
 
    Use cleaning equipment appropriatelyComplete checklist and log of duties completed during shift.  
 
    Operate cleaning equipment according to instructions. 
    Replace belts, bags and make other minor equipment repairs; report other mechanical failures to supervisor. 
    Report to Work as ScheduledClean equipment as directed. 
 
    Arrive and depart work on time.  
    Report to work on scheduled days with no excessive absenteeism.  
    Leave for meal break and return on time.  
    Follow Established Dress CodeFollow sign in/out procedures for pagers, keys and equipment as required by procedure.  
 
    Report to work in uniform.  
    Uniform are clean and free of debris or odor.  
    Entire uniform is worn daily .  
    Participate in Continuing EducationFollow department and hospital uniform procedures.  
 
    Attend weekly/monthly departmental training sessions.
