Site Safety and Health Officer

EnviroVantage is looking for a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).

The SSHO will be responsible for the direct Safety and compliance oversight of all Abatement, Demolition & Site Restoration activities; including any additional subcontractors.

Essential Functions:



  • Lead daily safety meetings and conduct routine safety/health inspections and report back weekly to the office
  • Conduct refresher training as needed; including but not limited to tools, lifts, confined space, etc.
  • Perform safety and occupational health management program, safety surveillance, safety inspections, and safety enforcement
  • Coordinate any corrective actions with EnviroVantage Site Superintendent


Experience:



  • Minimum 5 years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/managing general construction
  • Managing safety program or processes conducting hazard analyses and developing controls
  • OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER 40 required. If not current, willing to get certificate within 30 days of hire
  • Previous experience as an SSHO
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with OSHA:1926.1101;1926.62 and others
  • Strong working knowledge of EM385-1-1
  • CPR and First Aid certifications


Working Environment/Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, and using a force equal to lifting 50 to 100 pounds
  • Qualified Candidate must be able to pass a physical examination by medical professional for the anticipated work requirements
  • Must be able to pass a background check and be able to obtain access to military bases across the United States
  • A valid driver's license is required, as well as a safe driving record as measured by company policy
