Position Summary

This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, and will be for a 6 month duration based on the individual Contractor's performance. If the Contractor fails to perform assigned duties and responsibilities in a professional manager, in good faith and to the best of the Contractor's abilities, talents and experience; Tactical Air Support may terminate this agreement immediately by giving notice to the Contracting Agency. The Contractor's rate of pay and payment for work performed will be processed and arranged through the Contracting Agency.

The Aircraft Mechanics will be assigned to perform duties in their specialized expertise in either avionics, structures or airframes.

Responsibilities

Avionic Mechanics will perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification, troubleshooting, and replacement of aircraft electrical/avionics systems on all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment.

Structural Mechanics will inspect fabricated and installed parts such as brackets, angles, doublers, and other items necessary for the maintenance and modification of assigned aircraft. Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, sheet metal products and equipment on aircraft. Read drawings to determine part-fitting operations: filing, sawing, deburring, trimming, riveting, drilling, reaming, countersinking, and counterboring. Spray or brush prepared surfaces with specified amounts of alodine, primers, or finish coatings per engineering drawings and technical manuals.

Airframe Mechanics will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned T/M/S aircraft including repair of airframe components, hydraulic components, and preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance discrepancies. Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft including cleaning of screens and filters, grease moving parts, and check brakes. Service airframe components at line station, making repairs required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition. Apply specialization to work, repair, and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies.

Requirements



  • Must be instructed to apply via contracting agency.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and/or flight line occupational field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable maintenance and technical manuals, publications, instructions, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.


Physical Demands



  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance, if required).
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms.


Work Authorization



  • Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support is a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
  • Pre-employment and ongoing physical certifications are required.
  • Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
  • May be exposed to or required to handle hazardous materials.
  • Specific work hours determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.
