Job Purpose

Honda Aero, LLC in Burlington, NC is in search of a member to be part of a team responsible for performing quality-oriented tasks associated with precision measurement and inspection to ensure aircraft engine parts are built to type design and meet the requirements of the Quality Management System.

Key Accountabilities

  • Dimensional and visual inspection and interpretation of results as they relate to documented work instructions, type design drawings, or other special requests, using a variety of inspection methods, including CMM, hand gaging, contrace/profile equipment, and optical equipment
  • Development of work instructions related to work performed
  • Perform CMM programming/troubleshooting/validation of parts without complex geometries and tooling
  • Train other inspectors to complete repetitive inspections
  • Continuous improvement of CMM programs and inspection processes for quality improvement and cost reduction, including with respect to efficiency and cycle times
  • Support special projects or requests to support inspection, at the direction of Quality Management

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Educational Qualifications

Associate degree in a technical field or applicable work experience

Minimum Experience

Minimum of seven (7) years of inspection experience with jet engine or equivalent parts

Working Conditions

  • Climate-controlled laboratory environment precision measurement
  • This position routinely requires exposure to the manufacturing areas, all of which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and safety shoes. Some areas require the use of other protections, such as hearing protection
  • Ability to lift up to 30-lbs
  • 20/20 corrected vision and no colorblindness
  • Enrolment into FAA Part 120 Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse program

    This position may be subject to working a split or off-shift schedule
