The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a motivated and dedicated research associate to join our research team focused on studying degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) on the translational research continuum. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians to investigate relationships between advanced multi-parametric spinal cord magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and functional (motor, sensory, and balance function) correlates within a clinical population. This collaborative research is guided by faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the joint Biomedical Engineering Department at MCW and Marquette University. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in neuroscience, neurology, biomedical engineering, biophysics, computer science or a related field with expertise in medical image processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, neuroimaging, MR imaging analysis, functional testing, statistical analysis, and a passion for translational research. This position provides an intellectually stimulating and collaborative neuroscience and biomedical engineering community with ample opportunities for career development and scientific growth. The Research Associate will work closely with Aditya Vedantam, MD (Faculty Website), Brian D. Schmit PhD (Faculty Website), and Matthew Budde, PhD (Faculty Website) and will be affiliated with the MCW Center for Cervical Myelopathy (Center for Cervical Myelopathy Website). Primary Functions
