GSK's US Oncology is looking for a Director, US Oncology New Product Strategy

The Director, US Oncology New Product Strategy is responsible for providing US market insights and perspective to support GSK's Oncology pipeline and evaluation of potential business development opportunities. This includes developing an in-depth understanding of the US customer and market perspective for each pipeline asset to ensure successful commercialization and partnering with Global colleagues to develop robust financial valuations for assets in early-stage clinical development through launch activation (approximately 18-24 months before launch). In addition, you will help to evaluate external business opportunities, providing a holistic perspective based on knowledge of US market dynamics, current portfolio and future pipeline assets.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Provide a single point of accountability, leadership and voice of US customers for early-stage Oncology assets.
  • Ensure adequate expert input and review of key commercial assessments of the future therapeutic landscape including deep insights into the patients, customer, marketplace, competitors and business drivers. Extrapolate this assessment into an understanding of how the patient, marketplace and customer needs may evolve over the next several years.
  • Partner with business development colleagues to evaluate external business opportunities for US Oncology and provide recommendations based on portfolio and market perspectives.
  • Ensure adequate expert input and review of key commercial assessments of the future therapeutic landscape including deep insights into the patients, customer, marketplace, competitors and business drivers. Extrapolate this assessment into an understanding of how the patient, marketplace and customer needs may evolve over the next several years.
  • Partner with US Health Outcomes and Medical Affairs to develop clinical, health outcomes and/or economic evidence to support customer needs and initial brand value positioning.
  • Work closely with the US and global teams including Commercial, Medical, Finance, Insights & Analytics, Health Outcomes, and Business Development to ensure consistent strategic direction for pipeline assets accurate outlook for potential US launches.
  • Lead asset reviews to deliver aligned recommendations for US Pharma President, Business Unit Leads, Managed Market Leads, and Medical Leads in preparation for Global governance meetings.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelors Degree & 7 plus years of Biopharma experience
  • Experience in US pharmaceutical marketing
  • Experience working with research and drug development teams
  • Experience with environmental/policy issues and payer trends

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Advanced degree in science and/or business
  • Experience in building and ensuring cross-functional alignment
  • Prior experience in Pharmaceutical new product planning or drug development role
  • Launch and/or inline experience
  • Oncology experience
