SUMMARY: Centier Bank's Summer Internship Program is designed to help college students develop technical skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities while experiencing the dynamic world of community banking. This 12-week program, beginning in May, provides a well-rounded, hands-on experience that includes:

  • Program mentor for guidance throughout the internship
  • Leadership panels with department heads
  • Networking lunches with peers
  • Multiple professional development workshops
  • Capstone project presented to senior leadership
  • National Intern Day celebration
  • Opportunities to volunteer and serve the community
  • Social events with fellow interns

Our program provides the foundational skills, support, and exposure needed to explore a long-term career with Centier Bank, all within a values-driven, supportive environment.

Internships require up to 40 hours a week and would work at various Centier Bank locations in Lake and Porter County. This is a paid internship.

The Business Banking Intern will focus within our Business Banking department, supporting the team with day-to-day tasks, ad hoc projects, and key initiatives as assigned. The intern will learn about managing client relationships, credit, building a book of business, and the process of proactively reaching out to prospects to ensure new account acquisition. The intern will shadow professionals engaged in all areas of our business banking department. The intern will also learn about the interdependencies of the Business Banking and Retail teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The internship at Centier is an opportunity to independently solve a critical business problem and contribute real-value to a fast-paced team.
  • The intern is faced with a timely question or challenge from the Bank's business partners to think strategically and cross-functionally to provide a comprehensive recommendation during their final presentation.
  • Interns have full support from a mentor and department supervisors specific to each area of business within the department of study.
  • The role requires significant interaction with various functions as a part of the project - marketing, finance, data analytics, tech solutions and retail/business banking to help bring the project to life.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple deliverables and follow up on items, as necessary.

  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills are a necessity.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current college enrollment in a related major/field of study
  • You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Relocation expenses are not provided.
