Post Doctoral Associate Med-Pediatrics - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - ( 23003466 ) A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine to study the immune mechanisms of viral pneumonia-associated cardiovascular diseases, with a focus on lung-vascular interactions. The projects in the lab focus on understanding the differential responses between viral infections and cardiovascular effects. The ideal candidate will have experience in mouse models of disease, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, western blot, immunoassays, metabolic pathway analysis, RNA isolation, and PCR profiling. Experience with flow cytometry is ideal but not required. We are seeking creative and highly motivated individuals capable of executing research independently. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in a biology/biomedical field and possess effective communication skills. Background with transgenic mouse models and/or immunology is preferred, but not essential.
