Join Our Dynamic Market Transformation Team
We are looking for an Initiative Manager to join our growing Market Transformation team. This role will report to the Senior Manager Market Deployment. The Market Transformation team is responsible for scoping, designing, and implementing a portfolio of emerging technology initiatives, to accelerate the adoption of new energy efficient technologies in Minnesota.As an Initiative Manager for Luminaire Level Lighting Controls (LLLCs) you will be responsible for coordinating the initiative strategy with our internal team and external partners and overseeing market interventions to increase technology adoption. This initiative is a key part of the electric savings portfolio, and will be responsible for implementing communications, technology training and other market intervention strategies in partnership with other team members, subcontractors and other market partners.

What You'll Do
We are seeking a driven person that is motivated by our mission to discover and deploy the most effective strategies for reduction of energy and carbon emissions. The ideal candidate will be collaborative and adaptive in their approach to work and have experience with commercial lighting technologies, the lighting supply chain and energy efficiency.
Program Management



  • Oversee daily program operations including managing the initiative budget, supporting the annual workplan development, assisting with internal tracking and report of LLLC activities
  • Lead a team of directly managed and cross functional staff to accelerate the adoption of LLLC's
  • Select and manage subcontractors as needed to support the initiative activities
  • Work with market research and evaluation team to track and monitor product market share and other market progress indicators
  • Collaborate with internal research and product development teams on market interventions strategies, field demonstrations and other activities.



Internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication



  • Lead regular engagement with utility stakeholders to understand perspectives and align activities and outcomes to advance LLLCs
  • Develop productive working partnerships with lighting manufacturers, distributors and contractors to understand barriers and opportunities for LLLCs and advance initiative goals
  • Collaborate nationally to understand activities, best practices and opportunities in other regions
  • Understand and clearly communicate the product definition, energy savings potential and customer benefits for LLLCs to contractors and other key market actors



Training and demonstration projects



  • Develop and deliver tools and educational resources to raise awareness of LLLCs
  • Oversee the development and delivery of training to key market actors to promote the technology, design, sale and installation of LLLCs
  • Lead the recruitment and implementation of field demonstration projects to better understand challenges and benefits of LLLC technology and showcase results



Ongoing initiative management



  • Collaboratively participate in the development of the program theory of transformation for this technology with internal and external partners
  • Deploy and deploy additional market intervention strategies to accelerate adoption of the technology
  • Assist with market analysis and adapt strategies based on results

Skills & Knowledge We're Looking For



  • Demonstrated experience working with emerging technologies with a deep understanding of market trends and indicators
  • Energy efficiency program implementation experience preferred
  • Experience with the commercial lighting supply chain
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, including developing workplans, coordinating/managing the work of others, and responsibility for producing work products
  • Demonstrated experience crafting and delivering training materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience hiring and managing staff, preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of teams and external partners



Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in relevant field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in energy efficiency or comparable experience in the commercial lighting industry



Compensation



  • Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the compensation range for this position will be $94,000-$100,000.
