SRE Engineer

Our industry-leading financial services client is seeking an SRE Engineer. In this role you will be part of a tremendously talented and diverse software development team responsible for building and maintaining multiple environments. You will bring cloud management and sysadmin skills for delivering mission critical infrastructure ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security while assisting in system engineering activities and looking for ways to automate the end-to-end configuration and build out process.

Rate: $75 - $85 / hr. w2

• Work with internal release groups to setup and maintain Non-Prod and Production environments infrastructure.
• Seek out opportunities to develop and improve existing automation processes.
• Monitor the health of our production applications.
• Troubleshoot and debug CI/CD issues, with a willingness to resolve problems.
• Collect and report on operational metrics for SLA reporting and capacity planning .
• Collaborate with other groups by seeking, using and giving feedback.
• Cloud and Infrastructure experience is a strong plus.

• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Experience with security best practices.
• Design, develop, and implement gateway solutions using Istio, Envoy, OPA for custom policies.
• Design solutions for Ingress, Edge Proxies, Prefix Based routing and Sub-domain routing using Envoy.
• Experience with service mesh technologies.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes, ideally in an AWS environment, including operations and management, deployments (rolling and blue/green), monitoring (internal tools, MS, and Datadog), and security (PAM, certificates, network).
• Experience with Security protocols, Mutual SSL and encryption modules.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking including vnets, subnets, peering's, load balancers, gateways, routing.
• Systems Engineering - Linux - monitoring, installation, configuration
• Writing infrastructure as a code - this in place but consultant will be contributing and adding to what they have.
• Distributed systems - Kafka and mongo are a couple of examples
• Python/Bash scripting used for monitoring scripts.
• Overall knowledge with networking and Systems.
• Configuration management tools
• Scaled Systems - heavily used systems.
• Systems Engineering - linux - monitoring, installation, configuration
• Writing infrastructure as a code - this in place but consultant will be contributing and adding to what they have.
• Distributed systems - Kafka and mongo are a couple of examples
• Python/Bash scripting used for monitoring scripts.
