Overview

Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Services Group is looking for a Structural Engineering Lead onsite at Crane Clean Energy Center (formerly TMI 1) in Middletown, PA. In this role, you will coordinate with diverse disciplines, review designs, and manage projects with autonomy. Additionally, you will prepare specs, evaluate bids, and create innovative solutions to technical challenges.



Responsibilities

Each day in this role brings new challenges and opportunities to make a real impact. You'll collaborate across engineering disciplines, ensuring seamless project coordination and design excellence. With a sharp focus on budgets, schedules, and quality, you'll drive projects forward with confidence and creativity.

    Cross-Disciplinary Coordination & Collaboration: Understand and interface with multiple engineering disciplines. Review and check designs, drawings, and data from others
  • Project Leadership & Technical Oversight: Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality with minimal oversight. Prepare design studies, scopes, estimates, and technical evaluations
  • Innovation & Problem Solving: Devise new solutions to technical challenges based on industry knowledge. Make informed recommendations to drive project success
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Mentor and coach junior employees, assigning tasks and guiding their growth. Oversee technical work, ensuring quality and standards
  • Client Engagement & Operational Excellence: Participate in client meetings, field installations, and project start-up. Approve timesheets and expenses, and contribute to performance reviews


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 7 years of Civil Structural Engineering experience
  • EIT or PE License in one or more states preferred
  • Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintain quality standards of all assigned projects
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; comfortable and effective communicator with team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at this client site
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
  • Strong coordination and team-building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams. Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust level of support/oversight as appropriate
  • Ability to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON's Defining Excellence fundamentals
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Must be able to perform plant walkdowns

This position offers per diem for non local candidates.
