University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. Tenured/tenure-stream faculty position in the Department of Philosophy, pending budgetary approval. The proposed starting date is Fall 2025.

Area of Specialization: Philosophical issues concerning race and/or gender broadly construed or philosophical thought engaging African, Asian, or Middle Eastern traditions.

Responsibilities: Undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as regular departmental duties.

Tenured applicants should submit a CV with a list of publications and a list of references. Untenured applicants should submit a CV (including a dissertation abstract or research statement), letters of recommendation, evidence of teaching ability, and a writing sample.

Required Qualifications

Full/Associate Professor: (1) A PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field; (2) A record of research excellence as evidenced, e.g., by an active research agenda in philosophy or a closely related field, and a record of high-quality publications, academic presentations, or dissertation supervisions within philosophy or a closely related field.

Assistant Professor: (1) A PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field expected by the proposed start date; (2) a promising research agenda.
