The Accountant is responsible for key accounting functions, including preparing and recording journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, analyzing financial information, and supporting various other accounting tasks. This role plays an essential part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

The position reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

Detailed Description:



  • Prepare and record adjusting journal entries promptly and accurately in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to support accurate reporting and strategic decision-making
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls is in alignment with company policies and procedures
  • Actively contribute to the monthly and quarterly closing processes to support timely financial reporting
  • Collaborate with supervisors and internal business partners to support various accounting functions as needed
  • Provide requested documentation and support to both internal and external auditors as part of the annual integrated audit
  • Quickly learn and achieve proficiency in company's accounting systems
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:



  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure to complete work within established time parameters
  • Ability to be organized, detail-oriented, and effectively prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact positively and professionally with all levels of coworkers and management
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate professional demeanor and commitment to ethical standards
  • Proficiency with accounting and office software
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during critical periods to meet deadlines


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 3+ years' accounting experience


Additional Details:
Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk, with occasional climbing stairs, lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment. The person must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines. Occasional overtime, including on evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to meet business requirements. Some travel less than 10% could be required.
