Engineering Specialist Senior

Position Description

As a Sr. Engineering Specialist, your role will be to complete complex engineering assignments involving new test methods, problem resolution, product application, product development and data interpretation using comprehensive product knowledge. You will work with existing, modified and new products.

You will do this by:
  • Overseeing and conducting standard tests and preparing technical reports to resolve customer concerns/problems.

  • Modifying analysis techniques when necessary to solve complex problems

  • Originating and applying new and unique approaches to evaluate engine, component and product failures.

  • Adhering to new product development processes as it relates to Concept Analysis, Business Case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps.

  • Providing methods of manufacturing during the design of new products,design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies.

  • Overseeing the work of lower level engineering and technical support personnel.

  • Traveling to customer sites as necessary to review applications and discuss problems.

  • Developing and demonstrating new business initiatives with internal stakeholders for customers aimed at product placement and sales/revenue improvement.

  • Leading product related activities to maintain external customer relationships.

  • Performing analysis of modeled engineering problems using existing methods/software.

  • Compiling and analyzing complex test results, formulating conclusions, and making appropriate decisions.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

You are the type of person who is/has:
  • The ability to convey an understanding verbally and in writing of technical concepts and issues to non-technical personnel internally and externally

  • Comprehensive knowledge of internal combustion engines and related products

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures

  • Dyno testing experience on small air cooled engines

  • Emissions testing experience, specifically raw and cvs style emissions benches

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor less experienced engineering personnel

  • Knowledgeable in mechanical/electrical requirements related to the area of responsibility

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering related computer systems/software

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of seven years of related experience - In engine emissions testing and related emissions test equipment

Travel: Less than 5%
